Deli queue management solution with coordinated media
One of the most profitable sections of a grocery or
supermarket business is the deli. However, most grocers do not know how
long customers wait for their orders and how many leave because the
wait is too long. Grocery retailers and supermarket chains have the
challenge of increasing deli sales, reducing wait times and improving
the customer experience — without increasing staffing. Shoppers want a
fast and easy ordering and fulfillment process. If customers are
waiting in long deli lines — ordering and processing are nine minutes —
then there is a higher abandonment of tickets. Presenting deli shoppers
with interesting options for ordering and as well money-saving offers
while they wait delivers benefits right to the bottom line.
Modiv DeliVision enhances the deli customer experience
and reduces "tickets not served" with a solution that combines queue
optimization, convenient self-service kiosk ordering and targeted
marketing. Not only are shoppers purchasing more items per trip at
Modiv DeliVision locations, those stores are also seeing a 5.9 percent
increase in the average number of deli trips per week.

How does Modiv DeliVision work?
Modiv DeliVision queues up both deli counter requests
and kiosk orders so deli associates do not have to "pick and choose."
Customers are able to either place their orders electronically from
kiosks or take a ticket and wait for in-person service.
Retailers can opt for multiple kiosks around the deli or
throughout the store to increase visibility and usage.
By utilizing the unique Modiv DeliVision Ticket
Dispenser for queuing in-person counter orders, all customers are
served and orders fulfilled in order, regardless of whether they place
their order via a kiosk, the web or in person. This eliminates the
guesswork for deli customers on when they will be served, in what order
and how long it will take — giving them the option to continue shopping
while their order is filled or while others are being served. Offers
are also printed on the tickets and kiosk receipts to alert shoppers to
specials and sales.
To use a Modiv DeliVision kiosk, shoppers use the
kiosk's touchscreen to enter their deli order and have the option to
scan their loyalty card for one-touch ordering of their "favorites".
The kiosk display is additional media platform where advertisements and
offers can be shown throughout the kiosk ordering pricess.
Shoppers have options to select a specific category,
such as turkey or cheese; item, including store or other well-known
brands; weight and cut — such as thick, medium or thin. Shoppers can
add as many items as they choose and can remove items as well. Once the
order is complete, the kiosk will print a ticket with their order
number and estimated pickup time, allowing customers to continue
shopping and return at the specified time. Modiv DeliVision also can
integrate with a store's sound system, allowing deli-kiosk order-ready
announcements to be broadcast over the in-store audio system.
